History
LHD was founded in 2002 as part of the first reform projects of the German central and state governments, which involved the privatisation of specific business segments. Since then the Cologne-based company has consistently expanded its product and service range, both in Germany and internationally. Investments in its IT infrastructure, process optimisation and a highly skilled workforce ensure the efficiency of the entire Group and guarantee the achievement of its growth targets.
In October 2008 LHD bought the Swiss company jas AG, thus enhancing its own portfolio by adding several new areas of expertise in fashion and design. A further strategic step towards growth was achieved by LHD in October 2009 with the takeover of large parts of the Lion Apparel Group, the leading manufacturer on the global market for fireproof clothing and protective equipment.
As a multinational company, LHD is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of full-service solutions and products in all matters of workwear. LHD plays a central operational role within the Group.
