Cologne, January 3, 2012 - LHD dresses "the boys in blue"

The German LHD Group dresses the German Federal and the Bavarian police forces, amongst others.

Cologne, January 3, 2012. The international LHD Group of Companies, headquartered in Cologne (Germany), is a hidden champion in the provision of uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), and supply chain management. Playing a pioneering role in clothing management LHD has partnered with security forces in Germany to improve clothing performance while reducing clothing costs. The group has dressed thousands of high ranking Federal Police officers as well as hundreds of other police officers in Germany and abroad.

In Germany, high ranking police officers have personal clothing allowances and purchase their own uniforms, in contrast to lower ranking staff who receive their work wear and personal protective equipment (PPE) from their employers. Since 2008, the LHD Group has been the preferred supplier of clothing to the German Federal Police based on a contract with the German Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Cost efficient service
LHD provides work and formal uniforms (jackets, cargo trousers, headdress, shirts, ties or cravats for women etc.) to Federal Police officers as specified by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior. The LHD purchasing department acts as a public contracting body when procuring articles for police forces. It collaborates with predetermined suppliers and service partners and awards the contracts by tender. In addition, the company submits proposals for product improvements.

Special trained quality inspectors constantly monitor the garments to ensure that the high quality standards demanded by clients are met. In addition, LHD supports the Federal Police force with an automated, state-of-the-art inventory planning and controlling system to monitor budgets, material turnover, and expenses. The IT system supports the apparel distribution and guarantees low inventory levels as well as a supply quota of 99.8% on average. Furthermore, LHD offers a dry cleaning service as part of its so called 360° Service.
